Academic Interventions

Did you receive a letter from our office?

ODIME works to encourage student success and retention at Mason!

Our intention is to let you know there is a lot of support at Mason to help you towards your goals of graduation and overcome problems and concerns you may have in the process of achieving them.  We can help you find key resources and connect you to administrators who can best support you towards success.

When it comes to our attention that your cumulative GPA may be below 2.0, you will receive a letter via email from one of our assistant or associate directors inviting you to discuss the reasons for your performance and potential resources to get your GPA up to the level you are capable.

In the letter we strongly encourage you to talk to your academic advisor about your situation (if you have declared your major), or talk to someone in Academic Advising Center (if you have not yet declared a major).  These faculty and staff are in positions to help you to get back on track with your academic performance.  Please see Academic Intervention Program at the Advising & Transfer Center.

In addition, if you would like to talk privately to one of us about your concerns, grades, or adjustments to college life, please contact us at odime@gmu.edu or call 703-993-2700.  We will make every effort to work around your schedule.

We are sincerely here to help you reach your highest potential.  Please let us know if I can be of any service.
