STEP is an intensive seven week program that prepares first-generation college students for their transition to George Mason University. STEP Mentors work to educate, support and guide STEP students toward successful completion of the program and a smooth transition into their first semester. Each summer four mentors are hired and are compensated with a stipend, meals, and housing.
